Happiness Unlimited

Happiness is an Unlimited Resource provided to us by God. More you spread more you get but do not expect it to grow unless you spread.

DEPTH OF LIFE.

DEPTH...
I have never understood the depth of life
The polish, the strategy, the finesse of life,
Perhaps I took life simply
As it came to me......
I forgot to remember midway
The purpose
The aim
The lane of life.
The lane?
The road?
Has it one?.................
The outlet
The score
It has none! It has none!...........
Just learn to live it,
Accept it!!
As it passes you.....
Just learn to catch it,
Find it!!
If it’s lost through.......
There is no depth really
(cause it’s so deep)
Deep enough not to be seen.....
Only to be felt
There’s some more.....................
Still some more..............

THE GREAT TEACHER

The meeting with an old time buddy in the army is recognised as two brothers, hugging each other and wiping the tears of from each other’s eyes.
The bond is that real! I saw that kind of unison when an old time REGIMENT officer from my husband’s parent unit dropped in to meet him, while in our town to attend a wedding! The evening turned nostalgic for both of them, and I found it extremely gratifying to understand the equation they shared even when they were meeting up after 18 years!
The conversation over a cup of coffee revealed that the visiting officer belonged to a small village of Himachal.
(The village was called THUTHUN and was situated in a very remote part of the state ) Everything ,about the place started to sound like a fairy tale and it took the officer on a trip down the memory lane (and from within all this would emerge a story that would choke everyone’s throat! today)
The officer was from a humble background ,a fact that he not only admitted but said was rather proud of !The only source of education in the village he said was a makeshift thatched school building, providing basic primary education till class 5! (that too, was situated many miles away and one had to cross an ardous journey of wading through a river, to finally make it to it, everyday)But the single most support that timelessly drove children from homes to educate them, was a simple schoolmaster called `Guruji.` A mention of his name moved the (now very emotional )officer to tears who said ``whatever I am in front of you today is only because of my Guruji!.You would not have been talking to an officer of the Indian army had it not been for him’’!
The conversation revealed that the officer in question was an extraordinary student but with no future in the humble village. This was noted by the headmaster who
Convinced his parents to send him to Sainik School for which he promised to coach him(free of cost of course) in a mean period of three months .The regimen for the officer was a rigorous routine of school for six hours, followed by coaching for eight hours every day .The officer who was a little boy all of ten years of age said that there were meals offered to all the twelve student who were taking coaching then and would sleep on the same cold floor, like his own children would sleep! No distinctions were ever made! But the custodian of wisdom saw a dream for each one of them......asking for nothing in return! The officer cleared the written test with flying colours! and it was no one but Guruji who came to bid him goodbye on the railway station!
``A stone set to a gem.........he said to himself and walked away’...............! The Sujjanpur Sainik School is a testimony to many such noted army officers that are part of its alumni today. All because a teacher made them happen and believed in them even if the circumstances were most trying !I want to reflect on the fact, that today even I am in the same profession!
What is my goal ?I want to be a competent teacher or a great teacher like Guruji ? Will I be able to elevate myself to that pedestal?
My questions all got answered when the officer told us that the magnanimity of the teacher cannot be measured for each time he wants to pay his tribute (in the form of a gift....to Guruji, he refuses!)He says what I have done for you was only my DUTY and I got paid the same day that you held my finger ,obeyed my instruction, had faith in the vision, I saw for you and did not rest till you reached your goal! Such was the humility of this great teacher.
